RENUKA LAKE: According to legend, the demon Sahasarjuna attempted to kidnap his wife Renuka after killing the sage Jamadagini. Throwing herself into the sea, she did. She was brought back to life by the gods, and this lake is thought to be her incarnation. Along its banks lies a row of temples, and the river is surrounded by a track. PARASHURAMA TAL AND RENUKA TEMPLE : This sizable pool at the foot of Renuka Lake is thought to embrace Lord Parshurama, who desired to spend all of eternity at his mother’s feet. Every year in November, there is a festive event where mother and son are reunited.
