Road Trip to Bhangarh | The most haunted place of India

January 6, 2023 0 By chalchaleinindia

According to legend, the Bhangarh Fort, sometimes called the City of Ruins, is the most haunted location in the Rajasthan state of India’s Alwar region. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is about 65 kilometers away. It is a well-known fact that Rajasthan is home to several historical landmarks. Numerous forts, or Qila, were constructed by Indian monarchs and are currently maintained by the government’s archeological department.

No one is permitted to enter the border before sunrise or after dusk, according to the locals. Because of the place’s reputation for being haunted, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has placed a notice on the main entrance of Bhangarh Fort warning visitors that entering the fort during closed hours (sunset to sunrise) is criminal.

There are several legends surrounding Bhangarh Fort. One of them claims that a sadhu, or priest, named Baba Balak Nath once resided in the fort’s grounds. It was somewhat of his curse that no building in the fort could be higher than his house; if anyone dared to do so, the fort town would be destroyed.

Why you should visit Bhangarh ?

Even though the Bhangarh Fort is still a fort, you can sense its haunting through the artwork on its temple and building walls. It is wonderful to witness our nation’s heritage—our ancestors’ construction—in action. Being at the most haunted place will be an unforgettable experience. You won’t get hurt if you spend the night in the town next to the fort and take in its quiet. Try camping close to the fort if you’re an adventure seeker.

Things to do in or nearby Bhangarh?

Since Bhangarh is a tiny town or hamlet, there might not be many things to do there. It will take an hour to examine every area of the fort, as one may observe. This location can be used for picnics, and you are welcome to bring along any little games or hobbies you may have, such darts or frisbee.

Camping close to the area is among the nicest things to do. You are welcome to bring your own tent, and there are plenty of open spaces where you can ask locals to set up camp. You can cook your own food there, have a BBQ, build a bonfire, and engage in other exciting and adventurous activities.

Nearby places to visit?

Because Bhangarh is only 280 miles from Delhi, the nation’s capital, it is possible to visit Bhangarh on the weekends or, if you are going to return from Delhi early in the morning, you can do it before dark.

If you are thinking about spending a weekend somewhere, you might want to explore Sariska Tiger Reserve for a jungle safari. Since Sariska is only 30 kilometers from Bhangarh, you could leave Sariska in the afternoon. After that, spend the night in campgrounds close to the Bhangarh fort. The following day, visit Bhangarh early in the morning as the afternoon gets too hot. You can also try Bala Quila on your way back to Delhi. Another option is Chand Baori, a step well close to Dausa.

Best time to visit Bhangarh?

Months of December through February and Monsoon Season

The Indian state of Rajashtan is home to Bhangarh, which is reachable all year round. However, the area is extremely hot and humid during the summer, so visiting during that time would be a disastrous trip for you. Therefore, winter is the best season to visit Bhangarh, which translates to December through February. You can visit during the monsoon season as well, but make sure to check the weather prediction beforehand.

Our 2 Days Itinerary from Delhi to Bhangarh to Delhi

Day 1

The ideal time to depart is three in the morning in order to avoid the city traffic. It is always preferable to leave early. Upon arriving at around 7 am, we made the safari reservation. Although the safari is scheduled to last three hours, we were able to leave by 10 am and proceeded to Bhangarh after lunch. We took the incorrect route during our bike, which caused us to arrive in Bhangarh by 4:00 PM. After that, we had a conversation with several locals and made plans on where to set up camp.

Since many riders are camping for the first time, we offered them a brief instruction on setting up campers and organizing a minor competition between multiple groups. We eventually got to work preparing the meal. We sat by the bonfire and ate dinner beneath a billion stars. We started playing music after supper, and at the conclusion, some people started dancing.

Day 2

The following day, we set out early, starting at about six, and while some of us were sleeping, we strolled to the fort. We arrived, looked around, and left before 9:00 AM. After that, we carried some light snacks and tea with us. We waited for everyone to return. We departed from Bhangarh for Delhi at about midday.
