The Golden Temple

The Golden Temple, also called Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest temple in Sikhism and one of the most spiritual locations in all of India. ATTRACTIONS

Jallianwala Bagh: This ancient park, which is close to the Golden Temple, was crucial to India’s independence movement. It was the scene of the tragic 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people. Currently, it serves as a memorial to honor the freedom fighters’ sacrifices.

Wagah Border: The international border separating India and Pakistan is situated approximately 32 kilometers from the Golden Temple. HOW TO REACH

The least expensive and most practical way to go to the Golden Temple is by local transportation, such as car and cycle rickshaws. Additionally, it contains car-rental agencies from which you can pick up a vehicle and drive to the temple. Free bus services are also provided by the Golden Temple Trust from the Amritsar Railway Station.

By Flight

The Raja Sansi International Airport in Amritsar is located 11 kilometers outside of the city. From there, cabs can be used to go to the Golden Temple.

By Train

Delhi and Amritsar have an excellent train connection. Passengers are transported to the Golden Temple via taxis and three-wheel vehicles such as e-rickshaws and cycle rickshaws.

By Road

The best way to get from Delhi to Amritsar is by car because there is an excellent highway network connecting the two cities.
