One of the most popular tourist attractions in India is the charming town of Badrinath, located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is a wonderful combination of divinity and peace. Believed to be the residence of Lord Vishnu, Badrinath is one of the sacred sites visited by devotees during their char Dham pilgrimage.

Among the 108 divya desams where Lord Vishnu took on human form, Badarinath is considered a sacred site for Vaishnavites. In addition to the Badrinath temple, the village of Badrinath is home to the Panch Badri temples, which also include the Yog Dhyan, Bhavishya, Adi, and Vriddha Badri.

Some of the most striking peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas, including the magnificent Neelkanth peak, may be found in Badrinath, which is spread out along the River Alaknanda and sandwiched between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. One of the holiest places for Hindus, the Badrinath Temple, is reachable by a short walk for pilgrims.

Numerous legendary stories are connected to the place. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu arrived in Badrinath to meditate after the sage Narada warned him that he was unduly leaning toward worldly pleasures. According to another story, Lord Shiva was compelled to relocate to Kedarnath when Lord Vishnu dislodged him from Badrinath.

Badrinath, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, snow-capped peaks, and sources of water, has a unique charm and is still a very popular pilgrimage destination.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The mountains have stunning spring and summertime weather after a hard winter, with a wide variety of flowers blooming in the valleys. It is ideal to visit Kedarnath Temple during the summer months of May through June. The ideal time to visit the Badrinath temple is also during these months.
